Heart Shaped Candied Ginger Scones
(Makes 12 Scones)
Heart Shaped Cookie Cutter (Optional)
1 2/3 Cup All Purpose Flour
1 1/2 Cups Vanilla Cake
3/4 Cup 10x Powdered Sugar
2 1/8 Teaspoon Baking Powder
2/3 Teaspoon Salt
1 1/3 Sticks Butter
1/2 Cup cream
1/2 Cup Candied ginger
In a large mixing bowl combine flour, vanilla cake, powdered sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in the butter.
In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and cream.
Slowly pour the egg & cream mixture into your dough mixture and combine all together.
Roll dough out onto a floured surface.
Use heart shape cookie cutter to cut each scone out (or a round biscuit sized cutter), and place on a greased baking sheet.
Brush each unbaked scone with cream and sprinkle candied ginger on top.
Chill scones before baking (VERY IMPORTANT!) 3-5 hour in the fridge!
Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 to 25 minutes.
